We just started having a problem last night with our 2001 Explorer Sport that the driver's door won't unlock & lock with the remote or the key. We have to enter thru the passenger door, reach over & lift the door handle to open it, & can lock it by pushing the button down by hand. It tries to unlock with the remote, we've always had a little bit of a problem unlocking it with the key. We can hear it working, & the button trying to come up but just won't pop it up all the way. I assume I'm going to have to take the panel off the door. I've had to do that on other cars I've owned & never seem to get it to fit correctly back on. Any easy hints for that too? Thanks for your help.
I tried to email Car Guy Doctor, but I'm on my daughter's laptop, & she's never used the Outlook for email & so hasn't set it up.
